Year 2 — Behind the Scenes

2024 Mid-Year Progress Report

“How you do something is how you do everything” - Martha Beck

If we’ve been a little quiet this year, it’s because we’ve been working hard in the background to refine our processes and services - delivering on promises and seeing a vision become physical buildings, spaces, and relationships…

Ideas becoming plans becoming buildings.

It’s exciting to start gaining that traction and momentum. Making a dream a reality is painfully slow going in the moment. It takes faith, perseverance, and, most importantly, other people.

Focusing on what matters most

What doesn’t get talked about enough in our highly individualized Western society is our dependence on other people. It takes a community, which, in my case, consists of the close friends and clients who have supported me on this journey. The great myth is that you don’t need anyone — that you can do it on your own. As empowering as that sounds, it’s simply not true.

So, while I’m proud of where EVOLV is in such a short time, I’m even more proud of our ever-growing community — it’s what sustains us, challenges us, and helps us discover our meaning and find purpose in the collective.

So, what does all this mean for you

Firstly, if you are an existing client, thank you for your partnership. Every invoice I send includes a message that says, “Thank you for partnering with us.” I write that every time because I mean it—your continued trust and partnerships are a critical part of our growth.

Secondly, if you’re not a client yet, I’d like to invite you to try us out. We’ve been working hard to be the best structural engineering partner in the region, and we want you to be a part of that story.

Finally, if you are an engineer looking to be part of something special, or you know someone who is, please reach out.

We are building our business: people first.

Oh, I almost forgot! We’re planning another party for early November. This one will look a little different than last years — we are really excited about the venue. More on that soon.

Until then,
